We believe cross-cultural relationships deserve better than fantasy or exploitation narratives on one side, and fear-driven warnings on the other. Our goal is a grounded middle ground: real respect, realistic expectations, and practical awareness.
Our Editorial Leadership
Asia Dating Guide is led by Joseph Lewis, a writer and researcher focused on cross-cultural dating, relationships, and travel. Frustrated by how much existing content on this topic was either transactional or sensationalized, he built Asia Dating Guide as a more grounded alternative — one based on careful research into cultural context, traveler and expat accounts, safety data, and embassy advisories, rather than personal anecdote or hype. He’s committed to keeping the site’s guidance honest, respectful, and correctable as new information emerges. He manages the social media accounts and can be reached on Facebook or X.com.
Who We Are
We’re a team of writers and researchers focused on cross-cultural understanding, dating, and travel. This site was built out of frustration with existing content on the topic — most of it either transactional, sensationalized, or written without much care for the cultures and people it describes.
